ABOUT

I am a young designer who is graduating from The University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) with a Bachelor of Science in Textiles & Fashion Design within the School of Human Ecology, alongside minors in Entrepreneurship and Gender & Women Studies.

Ever since playing dress up in my Nonna’s closet and sketching in dozens of moleskin journals, design was always around me.

My experience at UW has allowed me to tackle design through a craft focused aesthetic, inspired by finding meaning in both the product and the process. I truly believe my coursework has provided me with a great foundation for understanding all aspects of design, from concept to construction, having completed courses in fabric apparel structures, pattern making, sustainable textile science, to digital jacquard loom weaving, as well as, manual and computer generated print and dye techniques. In addition to my design coursework, I have also pursued minors in both Entrepreneurship and Gender and Women's Studies that have greatly informed my work. I consider myself a human ecologist first and a designer second. As I am motivated to dispel gendered stereotypes and encourage body positivity and racial inclusivity through freeform expression. My ultimate goal is to create fully transparent and socially sustainable products that allow me to play while allowing all individuals a chance to feel at peace with their identities and supported by the designer making them.

Alongside my degree, I am constantly exploring outside the classroom, whether that is participating in multiple Fashion Institute of Technology virtual summer courses focusing on both Accessory Design and Brand Management or interning with brands like Enrico Cuini or Michael Kors, I am extremely motivated to learn and grow within the fashion industry. It’s why I spend my free time outside of class assignments ripping out fabric swatches, gauging the trends and exploring new textile designs on my living room floor loom.

My design aesthetic naturally gravitates towards the abstract. The need for interpretation of a brush or expressionist line quality very much influences my own work. However, I like to keep an exploratory lens through my pursuit of design, never limiting myself to a particular medium. This curiosity has led me to discover a passion for weaving on floor looms, and sustainable silk screen printing, while also dambing in menswear and accessory design through industry internships. I am not limited by an aesthetic, but rather have been pushed to create and find my own.
